GS1 Company Prefix is just one example of the unique identifiers that the GS1 Global Registry maintains. This set of digits is a globally unique code that identifies your business and allows you to use other GS1 identification standards such as GTINs (Global Trade Item Number) for products or GLNs (Global Location Numbers) for your locations. Before you can begin using GS1 standards, you must first obtain a GS1 Company Prefix.
