Electronic Data Interchange is a standard for B2B communication between trading partners used for transmitting information relevant to procurement, sales, and logistics. Within the context of a traceability program, Advance Ship Notices can be communicated via EDI and would be configured to include the KDE’s and CTE’s that are needed to understand the movement of products that will be traced.
Our ASN process is a little different than the traditional one. Instead of pushing a map out to senders we allow you to go online and complete a one type mapping. You tell us which EDI field and selector matches up with the required information. This is completed by loading a sample file and identifying each component. Where fields are required you ask, see here. After the map is complete we complete the connection by exchange certificates and AS2 Identifiers.
Instructions for Setup
After you login to your account within connect.foodlogiq.com, click on the cog wheel/gear icon in the top right to access the Settings menu, then select “Integrations”.
Step 1: You can setup multiple configurations per business if needed. This may be useful if multiple systems are submitting data that you need to share with FoodLogiQ Connect. Additionally, you may have different EDI Maps per Community/Customer you need to submit data in FoodLogiQ Connect for.
Click the "+" button to setup a new AS2 configuration.
Enter a name for your AS2 configuration. You will also need to provide your AS2 identifier and upload your public certificate. You can also access our information within this initial setup.
- Type in your AS2 identifier in the first field
- Example below: “Tyler Farms SHA1”
- To load your public certificate you will need to drag and drop the file into the box, or click on Browse on the left side of the page, locate your file, click upload. Your filename will then be shown in the second field next to “Your Public Certificate”.
- Example below: “TYLER FARMS-AS2 CONNECTOR.cer”
- Type in an email address of the user that should receive any error messages once you begin to submit files to FoodLogiQ Connect.
Download FoodLogiQ’s Public Certificate and make note of the FoodLogiQ Receiving URL that is listed.
- Receiving URL: http://as2-server.foodlogiq.com/as2connector/pub/ReceiveFile.rsb
- FoodLogiQ AS2 Identifier: FOODLOGIQ
- Click Save when complete.
After you complete Step 2, you will return to the first page. Click on the AS2 configuration that you have setup so that you can proceed with setup. You will see a screen similar to the one included below.
***NOTE*** Once you have set up your configuration, please email the details to email@example.com. This process should be completed sooner than a week, we just need to know after it is configured on your end. Also, the banner may appear for a while after it is configured on our end, just disregard if we have confirmed with you that it is set up.
If you scroll further down the page, you will see the option to complete the mapping section. Since we don’t require a specific format for your ASN, you can use an existing format that your company already generates for a similar purpose. Obtain a copy of one of those files, and upload the sample within this step. You will then tell us which selector and fields in your EDI file map to our required attributes.
After you upload your sample, you will then see a preview of the default fields we are looking for and our attempt to identify the correct EDI Field and EDI Selector from your file.
Note: if your customer is requesting additional fields, such as poNumber to also be included with your shipping event, you will need to add an additional field, and specify the EDI Field and EDI Selector that it relates to in your sample file.
Click on button to review the preview to confirm that you have mapped the fields appropriately and there are zero errors in the “FoodLogiQ Shipping Event” on the right.
Once complete click Now, simply wait for your email notification indicating that your configuration is complete, and then you are ready to begin submitting data.
