Global Trade Item Number or “GTIN” is the GS1 standard for uniquely identifying a product at the sellable unit level so that no other item will have the same GTIN worldwide. This is a 14-digit number that contains information about your company (by including your GS1 company prefix) as well as unique set of characters specific to a product.
GTINs allow us to easily identify which products are associated to different events within FoodLogiQ, whether it be tracing back within an Investigation to determine which products were included in a shipment record, or report a quality incident for a specific product. You can enter your GTINs for each of your products upon uploading or entering manually within the Products page in Connect.
