When building a scorecard template the last step is to assign a scoring range to every rule you’ve added. For more information on scorecard configuration, see the article Configuring a Supplier Scorecard.
The Scoring Bar
The scoring tab in the Scorecard Template builder is deactivated until a rule is added. Once you add at least one rule, you will be able to set a score range for the rule.
Keeping in mind that some rules are naturally positive while others are negative, the Scoring Bar has been built for flexibility and configurability in your scores.
When setting up your minimum and maximums, try to answer the question, When do I want the supplier to be awarded 0 points and when do I want them to be awarded 100 points?
0 & 100 Points
In a Count rule, the numbers you are inputting in the 0 Points and 100 Points sections are the number of items (assessments, incidents, documents, and more) that the supplier has that also meet the criteria of the rule. In a Time rule, the numbers here are the number of days. Value and Score rules are similar – the numbers here are the numerical values that are found on the item you’ve selected (e.g. an assessment). For more information on rules, see the article Scorecard Rules Book.
Depending how strict you would like to be on this specific rule, you can use “a count of 1” = 0 Points or a count of “0 = 100 Points”. We recommend that you study your suppliers’ To-Do list to set up rules and scores that will provide insightful scorecards that the suppliers can utilize to improve their performance.
50 Points - Midpoint
The midpoint is automatically calculated to help you understand what result would give the supplier 50 points for the rule. All numbers within and outside of the range are normalized to the 0 and 100 points numbers.
Help Text
Use the help text to see an explanation of how the rule will be scored based on your inputs. In the following example, 0 Points are awarded to a count of 5 and 100 Points to a count of 20, making the midpoint of 50 a count of 12.5. The image below shows the explanatory version of the scores:
