Initiating a Withdrawal
Step 1: Complete Withdrawal Details
Enter the basic information about the Withdrawal.
- Withdrawal Name
- Withdrawal Template
- Reason for Withdrawal
- Supporting documentation or attachments
- Internal notes
If performing a test event, select This is a Mock Withdrawal.

Step 2: Select Affected Products
Identify the products included in the Withdrawal by clicking the in the right hand column. Verify all affected products before proceeding in the table.
Depending on your configuration, you may be able to:
- Search for products
- Select multiple products
- Specify affected lots
- Define affected date ranges
- Review quantity information
Step 3: Refine the Product Details
Include specific details about the products selected withdrawal.
Step 4: Select Impacted Locations
Choose the locations that received or may have received the affected products by clicking the icon in the right hand column. Review the list carefully to ensure all impacted locations are included in the table provided.
- Search for locations
- Filter locations
- Select individual locations
- Select multiple locations simultaneously
Step 5: Review Notification Contacts
Review the contacts who will receive Withdrawal communications. Verify that the appropriate contacts are included for each location.
Contacts may include:
- Food Safety contacts
- Operations contacts
- Management contacts
- Escalation contacts
Note
Contacts must have valid communication information configured. SMS notifications require a mobile phone number, while voice notifications require a phone number.
Step 5: Review and Customize Communications
Review the communications that will be sent as part of the Withdrawal.
You may be able to:
- Review email content
- Review SMS content
- Customize messaging
- Configure location-specific communications
Step 6: Final Review
Review all Withdrawal information before launch. Make any necessary changes before proceeding.

Submit for Review
Organizations using a review process can submit Withdrawals for approval before launch. The reviewer will receive a notification and can review the Withdrawal prior to launch.
When submitting for review:
- Select the appropriate reviewer.
- Confirm the assigned reviewer, if applicable.
- Select Submit for Review.
What Happens Next?
- The Withdrawal status changes to indicate it is under review.
- Assigned reviewers receive notifications.
- Reviewers can approve or reject the Withdrawal according to your organization's process.
Launch a Withdrawal
Users with launch permissions may launch the Withdrawal immediately.
- Review all Withdrawal information.
- Select Start Withdrawal.
- Confirm the action.
Once launched:
- Communications are delivered to configured recipients.
- Withdrawal activity is tracked within the system.
- Response information becomes available through the Withdrawal Overview.
