A Certificate of Analysis (COA) certifies that a product or material has been tested for specified parameters, usually related to quality, safety or regulatory compliance. For example, a community owner receiving organic blackberries would test to ensure that blackberries meet organic standards before accepting a large shipment. To ensure these COAs are managed efficiently, users can add COA tables as a custom attribute type on products to track product properties and their acceptable values in a specified unit of measure.
In addition, users can have a specific document type for COAs that allow FoodLogiQ to scan whether these parameters (missing parameters, out of range, etc.) have been met and set color-coded statuses to alert community owners of issues. The community owner can submit the COA on behalf of the Supplier or the Supplier can submit the Document.
By utilizing COAs, community owners can standardize how suppliers submit analysis data, ensuring consistent central records for easy comparison, compliance and quality control. These features and approval flows help teams catch compliance issues early and act fast.
